Based on recent data, the population of individuals reaching 100 in the UK has grown by 100% from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.
From 2004 and 2024, the total of male centenarians has tripled from 910 to 3,100. Over the same period, the count of women aged 100 or over almost doubled from 7,400 to 13,600.
We are eager to receive stories from centenarians, their loved ones or close ones, about what it has been like to bear witness to the past century’s major happenings and changes.
